i have a bunch of items i would like to sell as a lot. this is great for a seller. one big sale to one buyer. in other words, sell a lot of 1000 things at once rather than 1000 mailings for 1000 auctions.

for a buyer, lots usually aren't that great. you don't want to buy a lot to get a few games and a few repeats.

the dream:
i input everything i own. it would be nice if a database existed for the game that listed rarity and past sales of the item. i input my pictures of the items. i input my weight of the items.

the auction would have pictures with a checkbox under the picture.

the user would start checking boxes for items they want and a tally would show the price and shipping as they check.

as a seller, i would put in rules like $3 up to 10, $2 10 to 20, etc. this would encourage buying more as the more is bought, the more you save.

i saw one auction on ebay where someone posted a picture of all there games and you bid on a pick of 10. winner picks 10, they are taken off the list and the rest is put back on.

anyway, thoughts?

That's pretty cool but in order to sell the rest of the lot I would make sure that the items are of fairly equal value and rarity or don't put in all the rarer stuff at once. You could also make it that there is a minimum of 2 or 3 carts. I would be concerned with being left with junk and picked clean of all the rares.
I like these though - a lot of fun for a buyer. :)

good point.

i guess by bidding on your pick of 10, it should work itself out if you have rare items.
