Pretty good haul today at a garage sale. got a crate of about 30 mostly boxed Odyssey 2 games for 15 bucks. I think the rarest thing in there is the KC Krazy Chase.
Also there seems to be a complete Quest for the Rings and Great Wall Street Fortune.
There was also a second Great Wall Street Fortune box with Instructions and game board but no cart. Anyone out there looking for this to complete a Great Wall Street Fortune they might have?
I'll try to get some pictures up when I get the chance. Let me know if anyone is looking for a specific cart...I don't know much about Odyssey 2 rarities so I might have found something that someone might want.

Nice find. I know Chuckwagon member Furor is looking for Quest for the Rings pieces. He may be interested in that if you are wanting to sell it. What other games did it come with? Power Lords is a pretty desireable game and I believe the most rare for the system. Other good games are Killer Bees, Smithereens. Any 3rd party games are pretty hard to come by also.

Thanks for the info SoCal! Doesn't look like I got a Power Lords in there and from what I can tell these are all first party games as they all say magnavox.
I love the box art and cart art for these games. I could see getting into collecting these.
Never had one as a kid, so I don't have the nostalgia factor...but I'd be curious to know more. I'll PM furor and see what he has to say.

Well I can tell you some about it :)... THis is a great system to collect for as you can quickly and generally pretty cheaply complete the collection. THere are I believe if memory serves 49 games for it. There are about four box and system variants and a voice module.
Most games can be had complete for just a few bucks. THe harder to find stuff for the system are:
Demon Attack by imagic and Atlantis by imagic they will sell for 40 or so a piece complete.
Power Lords is the biggie here at around 150.00 complete
A boxed voice module in good condition can fetch around 100.00 or so.
Other than that there are only about 5-10 games that will cost you more than 10 bucks a piece.
The whole collection can usually be put together at average selling prices for around 600 bucks so its a nice one you can complete fast....
There are some more games if you get into the PAL side as there are some parker brother games and a few other 3rd parties there but they are harder to find and not all of them will play on an american system.
If I get a minute later in the week I am going through my stuff and I'll post some pics of the complete American Collection..... Plus a few of my protos.... Anyway if you have any questions feel free to ask...

Thanks Bruce. That's some great info. As it turns out there is a Demon attack in the box (no case...but with a manual). I was a big fan of Demon Attack on the Intellivision (it was on intellivision wasn't it...if not what am I thinking of? The game that was like space invaders meets asteroids...)
Anyway, I'm most excited to check out the stuff for Quest for the Rings. It seems like it might be sort of like the Dark Tower board game.

Yes demon attack ws on a bunch of systems and intellivision is one of them LOL... Quest is pretty neat although playing it is cumbersome. Its a neat idea and fun to play with...

Well, I just won a yahoo auction for an Odyssey 2. The listing says that it "doesn't appear to power on". Doesn't look like the guy tested it too carefully. I'm hoping I can get it and coax it back to life. There are a few games included so maybe I'll get a couple that weren't in the box I got before.
I can't wait to fire up these games and check them out. It will be my first retro console that I will be looking at 100% free of nostalgia. I didn't know anyone who had an odyssey and never played any of these games. I think I'm going to blog about each game as a retro game fan who is viewing old games with fresh eyes. Sort of a "how much of our hobby is an appreciation for retro games and how much is just nostalgia".
Anyway, I'll keep you posted.
