I had picked up a few Blueray movies and had yet to pick up a player. I wanted something decent and in looking around it became apparent that the PS3 would work great and I would get a game system as well. So far I picked up Terminator for it and I expected it to be tough despite all the reviews saying it was too easy and short. Every time I have tried those type games I end up running against a wall aiming at the sky and getting shot. And sure enough as this HK was swinging back and forth I was holding the controller by one side and using the top hat like a joystick getting killed. It will take some practice.....
Any recommendations for the PS3?

Valkyria Chronicles is a great game if you like strategy/RPGs.

I picked up Blazing Angles II for the PS3 today and I am impressed. I hope it helps me get a handle on the controls for this system so I can do better in Terminator so I don't have to hire the neighbor kid to come over and play it for me. It is a pretty neat WWII aviation game that focuses on (and takes some historical liberties with) the lesser known planes of WWII. Most people think of propeller powered planes as WWII and jets as post WWII. The truth is that the US, and UK were flying jets during the war as well as the Germans who actually fielded them and flew them in combat. A neighbor of mine in Germany was a pilot during the war who flew HE162s. And that is a major reason I got this game. I have been researching the HE162 for a long time, gathering drawings and documentation and such to build a replica. A group in Oregon has built and flown ME262s but nobody has done a HE162 as far as I know. I have also built the majority of the fuselage formers and spar box. Building a jet is a whole different world that building a propeller powered plane and sometimes you forget that years down the road you will taxi it out on the runway and go flying. Just to fire up this game and fly one gives you something to keep you going. I am pretty impressed so far with this one. I just wish there were more titles.
Also, next month's editorial will be a follow on to UK Mikes segment this month and my thoughts on the PS3 and Xbox360 will be covered.
