Another news item for you
http://www.micromart.co.uk/news/31-general/3360-sega-launching-new-console
It’s been ten years since some of us in the land of Micro Mart Shed had to be physically wrenched away from Sega’s terrific Dreamcast console, which made the mistake of having lots of superb games and also going head to head with Sony’s PlayStation 2 at the time. Sega worked out it was clearly foolish (appreciating that this is a very simplified version of the tale) in thinking that people wanted interesting, diverting games to play, and left the console business for good.
Or so it seemed. For it’s been revealed in the last week that Sega actually has a brand new console up its sleeve. It’s called the Sega Zone, and is billed as a wireless gaming console that will come with 20 classic titles from the Sega back catalogue. Furthermore, the machine is going to come with a pair of wireless remote controllers (wonder where it got that idea from?).
It’s basically an emulation device in a posh box, rather than a concerted attempt to take on the Xbox 360, Wii or PlayStation 3. It’ll also be out in the summer, priced somewhere around the £50 mark.
