This post is here to do two things. First, to reiterate Google Shopping feeds are now up and running so anyone listing fixed price listings/Buy Now will have their listings auto fed directly into Google so you will have tons of people seeing your GameGavel listings as they search Google. You can check out our current Google Shopping listings here and it updates 6:00AM EST every morning. http://www.google.com/products?q=gamegavel&hl=en&aq=f
Since getting these feeds up and running, combined with transferring our forums to now operate under the GameGavel URL we are seeing tremendous growth.
The Google Analytics info below shows our daily unique visitors averaging over 2400 people the past week or so since we made these changes. This will translate to over 70,000 unique visitors / month (and growing) looking for video game listings.
Next, I really need to get more listings for modern day gaming items running on the site. So to spark this, I am willing to give out 12 more free seller accounts (pay no fees for life) on what will become the #1 place on line to buy and sell video games. The deal is that to get one you must be able to produce at least 50 listings for items in the modern day categories. And remember with a free seller account you don't pay anything for this. Feel free to link your GameGavel store with your Ebay store and pass traffic back and forth too. I am cool with that.
This is a very good deal for someone who is spending alot selling on Ebay and looking for a viable alternative. Imagine having no fees ever on GameGavel.
Please PM if you are interested in this deal.

We are seeing tremendous growth... Our daily unique visitors averaging over 2400 people the past week or soThat is awesome; hats off to you, Mike. :HO
I know I have certainly been doing my part; with over 520 views total so far;
though I think there have only been 45 total unique hits for me this month;
though I may be looking at those statistics incorrectly, or it may
be inaccurately reporting them since the affiliate program
has been temporarily stopped.
Any idea when and if it will be coming back?
I'm not sure if it is worth it for you to continue it; but I thought it was a nice addition to your site; and I plan to be getting my own retro-gaming themed site up and running at some point. I have already reserved the domain names. Though I have no intention of even trying to compete with you; as it won't be an auction based site; I'd like to feature my auctions on my pages, and although not required in any way; the affiliate program was a nice addition for the contributed promotion.
Hopefully GameGavel's growth will continue running up the charts!

I only wish I was in a financial position to take advantage of this.
Maybe someday down the line I could obtain that level of sell-able inventory;
and even make this and my own future retro-gaming website my sole job;
but right now that isn't really an option considering I'm still unemployed :/
Hopefully, some sellers take advantage of this awesome deal :SFK

I am actually getting some help from a member to design some new banners/buttons for the affiliate program so shouldn't be much longer :)

Socal, I am very tempted by this offer. Is it still available? If so, does that mean I have to list 50 items immediately or in a week, month or what timeframe? Also does the 'No fees' mean fees of any type or just final sale fees? Finally which systems qualify as "modern"?
Thanks

Let's call it 50 items per month or as long as you can hold out :) We need Wii, PS3 & 360 listings. Is this what you were thinking? You would pay no final value fees, reserve listing fees or photo upload fees. Listing enhancements including homepage featured items, top-of-category items, bold titles or highlighted listing would still be charged for if you elect to use them.

If I ever wanted to do this... I'd definitely have to make this a full time job.
Heck, I still haven't had time to look at the bulk up-loader yet lol
But then again, I think your actually targetting large resellers
that would otherwise be part of feeBay here; which makes perfect sense.
Regardless, I'm a bit shocked that you haven't gotten
many bites on this offer, or maybe you have :POKE:

I only have a Wii and only a couple games that the family would allow me to part with. I was hoping "modern" included current and the previous generation (PS2, GC). But even so I would only have enough (that I'm willing to part with) for a month and a half. I guess I'll have to settle for being just a normal run of the mill seller. :SMURF:

I have been trying to persuade some larger Ebay sellers to bring some modern day game listings over here and these people generally have a few thousand auctions running on Ebay. So definitely looking for some high volume sellers here. I've been giving this thread link to them to read about it.
But for existing users who aren't that big I would give a free seller account but like it says it would have to be in trade for some consistant listings in the Wii, 360 and PS3 categories. 25-50/month would be fair I think.

I agree that this is more than fair... considering the target of this thread and offer (large sellers).
I think the fact that GameGavel has gone back to having zero insertion fees,
and continues to have much lower seller fees over eBay;
is itself, a good enough incentive for the average seller.
It's not in my immediate or near future plans to try and make this mark;
but this is a great deal for those who can and are willing, imho.
I hope that Mike is successful at bringing some of these larger eBay sellers over. I'm sure that the increased fees over there are slowly killing them.
Even as an average "small time" seller; the fees are getting ridiculous. And with PayPal thrown into the equation;
it's almost like being taxed twice by the mean eBay Queen :P
Thanks to GameGavel; very rarely am I forced to list a game on eBay or elsewhere for that matter. :LK

I always see these buy it nows and whatnot that I WANT to get ... then I look at my bank account that is negative more often than not. And I don't want to be in the position where Paypal takes the money out and it's not there. lol

We are going to be hitting our two year anniversary next week on the 24th of March. But with one week to go here is what we have all accomplished our first two years:
http://www.chasingthechuckwagon.com/images/GA31710.JPG
We are nearing 80,000 unique visitors and will hit this if the trend continues by our birtday on the 24th. And we are being visited by over 100 countries. Incredible.
Now lack of traffic is really not the problem, but more so the lack of new listings. Now it is more important than ever to list some things to keep the visitor stats growing and converting more of them to registered members and thus bidders and buyers.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support. I will be going out with an email to all our members tonight so let's hopefully rally and continue growing GG into the alternative to Ebay that we all want.
