I voted for "Worst Games" as well. I'm sure that one will lead to a lively debate.

I cast my vote for "Worst Games on a Computer/Console" too. So many good candidates to be ripped-on there.

Another vote here for worst games. It isn't an easy choice as there are quite a few good topics there - but this is one I particularly relish for the inevitable nastiness of the whole thing, as well as the discussion here.
I was deliberately collecting the worst games that I could find for a while, and certainly have a few in mind. Cyberswine for the PC, anyone?

Perhaps an Egg as a playable character, that sounds aweful.

My vote goes to worst games. You guys always seem to find off the beaten road titles, so I look forward to hearing some not always talked about (I always hear about Action 52, Superman 64, Night Trap, etc etc)
The egg as a playable character had potential, if he cracked and the yolk fell out when he died. That would have been awesome.

I picked worst games as well. Too bad the "Big Rigs Off The Road Racing" is not considered retro, because I'm sure that would get consideration check out this piece of tird:

No, don't do a worst-of. That's what we have the Angry Video Game Nerd for. Everyone knows already that Superman 64 sucks.
I picked peripherals. Peripherals are awesome. The Zapper. The Arkanoid controller. The ASCII Grip. The Hori Digital Pad. The NES Advantage. The Capcom Soldier. I could go on and on with my favorite peripherals.
But not the Power Glove. Power Glove was so bad.

+1 for "Worst of"
Maybe have a Worst of with the exception of the obvious ones (2600 PacMan, ET, Superman 64, etc...)

I am not feeling the "Worst Of" categories. but all the rest of these are good. But I voted for "Best Sequels Better Than The Original".

Here's my four for that particular one. :P
TMNT 2 : The Arcade Game for the NES because the first TMNT game on that particular system was utterly atrocious.
Sonic : The Hedgehog 2 for the Genesis. Spindash for the win.
Millipede in the arcade trumped Centipede in every possible way.
Galaga in the arcade was light years beyond Galaxian.
There. :P

hehe I can add to that list.
Mario 3 beat the pants off of 1 and 2
Mega Man 2 much better than part 1
Castlevania 3 was more fun than 2
Super Metroid was more fun than 1 or 2

I voted for 'Best Banned' - but none of them really grabbed me - Guess I'd change that to 'Under the Radar' if I could...
Really liked the idea of 'Prototypes' following on from Scott's Arcade Classics cab pick in 'Anthologies' - Could go with MarbleMan for starters - and I'm sure there are more....
Gotta say I've never heard of Big Rigs......but that sure looks poooooooooor LOL

My first instinct was "Worst games - that'll be fun." But there are just *soooo* many crappy games from the last 30 years it might not be that interesting a list. It's almost too easy. I'm changing my vote to "best sequels better than the originals." More thought provoking.

That's all you need right there. I've played it. I actively hunted it down (don't ask how. *looks around*) and played it. Christ it's bad. It is SO BAD I highly recommend people hunting it down just to see how bad it REALLY is.

For the record, I agree with "Best Under the Radar" games, because there are a LOT of AWESOME gems that just never really got noticed.
Off the top of my head, Rise of the Triad is one of those.
Truly an AWESOME game in every respect. But it came out around the time when DooM was dominating on the PC and not much could compare. And it didn't help the fact that RotD was running off of the Wolfenstein 3D engine as it was originally meant to be a sequel to it in the first place (albeit, a majorly upgraded version of the Wolf 3D engine). It was the first FPS to show bullet holes in the walls, destructable things in the environment and other things. And it a HELL of a lot of fun to play, even today. And in my opinion beats out DooM in playability and fun.
GOG.com has it for $5.99, and it's worth every fuckin' penny. Though I would suggest downloading the WinROTT source port for it that lets you run it in 1024x768 rather than the abysmal 320x200 ... and there's also an OpenGL version of it as well. And ... I don't know if it's both or just one of them, but they put in bot support for the multiplayer which is fucking INSANE. There is so much stuff to this game I could go on forever about it, but if you haven't played it you really need to. :)
I just hope they don't go with the "typical" bad games (E.T., Pac-Man 2600, Superman 64, Dizzy, Cheetah Men or however the fuck it's spelled etc etc etc) and show me things I haven't heard of. :)
And the great part about listing bad games, while it IS a retro gaming podcast and obviously I think they're going to go more for a retro thing ... it doesn't HAVE to be retro. Big Rigs is a perfect example.
Rise of the Robots is another one that I can think of right off the top of my head.
And Dizzy.

I've played it as well. I don't think it is nearly as much of an awful game as it is one that is very, very incomplete. It appears to be an early development build created as a proof of concept that was somehow bizarrely shipped in a retail box before anyone had written the collision detection, physics or opponent AI.
Had it actually been completed, bugfixed and had some of what may have been placeholder graphics replaced, it might have been - well, not a great game or even a particularly good one, but at least a proper budget game that set out what it tried to achieve.
Mind you, had that been the case we would'nt be talking about it today.
