Sorry So Cal, I know it's not Game Gavel, but I couldn't let this one go without bringing it up over here on the forums. At least it's not ebay. Shop Good Will is basically going to charity so maybe that will make up for it.

BIN for $600? Is it really worth that? There was one at CGE I am sure for way less (tho I don't remember the asking price)

Was the one at CGE in box? I don't think I've ever seen a boxed copy. However, it's WAAAAAAY to much for my tastes. I think you'd have to be a huge Atari fan. Personally, I can't think of many games worth 600 bucks to me. I'd just look at that and think, do I want this, or a couple of arcade cabinets.

Nah it was loose. Yeah I agree - even arcade cabs I don't tend to go over $400 for the most part (tho I'd pony up the cash for a Food Fight of course :) )

Already up to $600
Pass. With that amount of money I could buy a nice Home Theater system.

No its Buy it Now for $600, its currently $161.
But still - for that price I could buy a fairly crappy home theater system. And enjoy it more :)

I think I would put that towards a nice steel battalion controller.

I didn't get a chance to play it, but we had a set up like that here in the QA department for a while. It was great fun against humans. Against the computer it was very frustrating as the learning curve is steep and it's easy to get blasted and the start up sequence is maddeningly complicated.

"maddeningly complicated" and "learning curve" are the very combination of phrases that make me think.... ah... shit... give me Robotron instead :)

It's about as far away from robotron as you can get. But it's about as close as any game has ever come to "mech simulator". I mean the hardware alone is sweet.

Yeah I appreciate it for the hardware, completely - with a 12 hour a day job and 2 kids unfortunately I just need a pick up and play game. Sure you know how that feels, being in a similar field of work! Or maybe I'm just gettin old.

For me I have to decide if it's worth fighting with the wife over. She'd take one look at that monstrosity and say, "OK, you can bring that in the house...as soon as you get rid of that milk crate of records that's been in the living room 'waiting to go on ebay' for a year."

HAHA! Man, your wife and my wife sound the same - they should never get together - like the Keymaster and the Gatekeeper - real "wrath of God stuff"!

And it closed for 329.85 plus their exorbitant shipping (probably 40 bucks for an 11 pound item). So how about it, would any of you pay that much for a boxed Chase the Chuckwagon? I know I wouldn't. I wonder if the winner is anyone on this forum. They HAVE to be on the atari age forum. We need to find out who this was and get an interview going. I want the programmer for this game at the next CGE!

Its such a pile of crap I doubt he/she'd want to take credit for it! :)
And no - I wouldn't pay it... I could get a Donkey Kong cab for that! :)

With no Buy It Now option, interestingly. Very strange... I'll watch this one too I guess. Looks to be in very good condition too. But I still don't want it :)

I wonder if this is the same one from the last auction and the first guy reneged or something. They say how well it did and were like. Damn! let's put it up by itself and see how it does!
