(Sort of) LOCK

One of the aspects of owning pretty much anything coin op is locks. At some point you will almost certainly buy a game with missing keys, loose keys to your game, or have a missing lock. On a home game unless you have some unusual circumstances then you don't have a need to truly lock a game, but you do want those panels and doors to not fall open or have holes where locks should be.

So what do you do? The existing lock can be converted into a lock that can be opened by almost any key or a flat screwdriver, will hold the door or panel in place, but looks stock. So now you can open any game quickly and your pretty much the only one that knows.

First remove the lock by removing the screw that retains the arm on the back of the lock, these come in different sizes and shapes so you will want to remember how they were oriented.

You will see two rows of metal tabs that will pull out with plyers, under these tabs are springs that you want to be sure to shake out so they don't damage the lock.

Then you reassemble the whole thing and now it will work as it did before but can be opened with anything that will fit in the slot.
