I just stumbled upon this site yesterday well crusin the net and just had to post this find, eventhough it happened about 3 weeks ago. Went to a ham fest in Ft. Wayne (use to go to them all the time when I was younger, lots of great stuff its not just for hammies) walked up to a table with a bunch of video game stuff and was just browsing the selection. The seller walks up to me and some how we started talking about nintendo 64 and he pulls out a box with a device in it and tells me that if i know what the item is he will sell it to me for $35 dollars, so he opens it and I look into the box and say z64 instantly. He looked shocked. I use to have one when I was younger. So I got a z64 later version of hardware 3 for $35, not a bad steal.

That is a sweet score. Since you are new here, you may enjoy our podcasts and also our YouTube channel featuring the Big Game Hunter show :) I hope you become a regular around here. We also have a pretty nice Flash Games area - look in the menu above to find it and compete for high scores with other members.

Okay, I'm sure I could do a few seconds of Googling to find out what the z64 is. But I can't be bothered to do that at the moment because I would rather hear it from the people who have used it rather than historical and technical specs.

So someone explain to me what a z64 is. heh

It's a N64 back-up device. Sits on top in the cartridge port and uses ZIP disks to store roms. Can back-up carts and play back-ups. It can be moded to use SD cards instead from what I have read, although I haven't done that to mine.
