I had a great Christmas...many fine things came my way, but the finest was something I've been wanting for many many years...a lovely Vectrex and 6 fine games. When I ripped the paper off that bad boy, I felt like a kid again. That's a helluva system...vector games don't seem to age, and the controls are tight. I showed it off at a xmas party and it was quite the popular item...I would bet money if these were manufactured today and sold at a decent price they'd sell 'em like hotcakes.
Best Xmas Ever

Awesome, congrats! Never owned a Vectrex, but I sure would like to some day.

Great story, if there was ever a system to own the authentic hardware for it is the Vectrex.

Ya, the VEX is a great system. I will never get rid of mine! Congrats on joining the Vectrex Club!

Now you have to get a multicard for it. And start rounding up overlays. The great thing about the unit is that you can get pretty much the entire library in a week.

Gongrats, great purchase.
Since we are on the subject does anyone have any opinions on reproduction overlays? I keep finding them online but never had the courage to buy them.

I bought a set a few years ago, the quality is good enough to play the games, not as sturdy feeling as the originals and clearly a home inkjet job, but certainly usable.

Well, ordered a VecMulti a week or so ago..i'm dying to get that thing cooking. So far Scramble and Solar Quest have eaten up alot of my time! Can't wait!

Try Rip Off, it is a must play title on the Vectrex.

I'm a huge fan of Vectrex Scramble, its a pretty impressive conversionn. However, if you can get hold of Vectrexians (a fairly recently released home-brew Galaxians copy) - GET IT. Its absolutely incredible what they managed to get out of the system.

Got my VecMulti cart in the mail today...one word..WOW! This thing is impressive. There's a great menu system with a way to customize the names of all the games and change the menus. Basically if you're not familiar with it, its a card with a micro SD slot in it...its as simple as dumping the roms on there and updating the menus, pop the card in the cart and you have a one cart solution for the Vectrex! It runs EVERYTHING, i've had zero probs with it, and a soft reset pops the menu right back up. I'm having game overload on this thing!
BTW, some killer homebrew on this thing!
