View Full Version : A modest suggestion for the forums.

No offense, and I know that I haven't participated enough in this community to make any serious suggestions, but I feel like the forums have WAAAAAAAY to many subforums. It kinds looks bad when you have subforums that haven't had new posts in months, and it leads to even more inactivity when you have all your new posts spread out so much. It seems a lot of these subforums could be consolidated.

I never see that because I just use the New Posts link so I only see what's u[dated since my last visit.

There does look like a lot of areas though.

I've wondered about the amount of sub forums for a while too. I do the same thing that miner2049er (UK) does.

I'd wondered if anybody else complained about this. I think we do have a lot unused or underused forums here. I'm wondering if more people would participate in discussion if some sub forums were consolidated.

While it is feasible to look at the recently commented posts on right side, I just get the feeling we might have more discussion if there were less topics to sort through.

Yes, i have trimmed the forums back considerably since the older, original comments. I've considered trimming them back more, but really cant figure out what to trim off at this point. I think its about as trim as it can be. Let me know what you would trim and ill take a look. Keep in mind we have both GameGavel and RGRU members using these forums. And I dont think they are any bigger than what you see on any of the othet popular gaming forums. :)

As far as sub forums go, i think there are less than 5. And they are small so dont think they desrerve their own main page forum. That would clutter it up more in my opinion.
