We are having our neighborhood garage sale this weekend. After hauling a few hundred pounds of furniture from the basement up to the driveway I was given permission to go 'on the hunt'. I found a nice pair of wine glasses that my wife loved when she saw them. I also found an Atari Flashback 2 sans power cord for $6. I went next door to the neighbor's garage sale and she had a basket full of AC adapters. I found one that might match but i would like to be sure before I try to power on the FB2.

The FB2 only show the voltage and polarity requirements not the amperage. The AC adapter I picked up is the correct voltage and polarity but the amperage is listed as 350 mA.

Anyone have their power supply handy and can tell me what the amperage is listed as? I found a video on YouTube which said the amperage is 200 mA. I've forgotten mot of my electronics knowledge. Is this too big of a difference, do I need to find another power supply?

I'm sure Scott can confirm or dis-confirm this but when it comes to MA ratings having more is no problem having less then required is when it will burn out the power supply. The mA rating shows up to how much it will provide so as long as you don't need more then 350 mA you should be good to go.

Great, thanks for the info. I was worried that the power supply would be pushing the full 350mA. If it will only supply what the unit draws up to 350 the I should be good. Thanks again.

If I already have a functioning 2600 is there any reason to mod it with the cartridge port?

Finally got a chance to try out my Flashback 2 with the non-original AC adapter (great news this non-standard adapter must be of very high quality because it would not let the smoke out of the FB2). :)

Scott has raved about how well this system is designed. So far I am quite impressed. The one drawback is that some of the games as listed as 'arcade' when they are really just the 2600 versions (e.g. Arcade Asteroids).

I think that Arcade is the category of the game. I don't think it' trying to say it's the arcade version. Nice find though.
