inspired by all the find you guys have been posting. I went to 4 local shops last weekend and got great big goose egg. One shop had like 6 genesis sports games but otherwise nothing. Not even a random controller or rf switch. Now I remember why I quit looking at these places.
Maybe ill get frisky and do a rummage sale run soon.

Yeah I was inspired also and in the last month I have hit 6 flea markets, 6 pawn shops, 4 second hand shops and 3 "swap" meets. I found an Atari covered in tar I believe, an odyssey 2 with the controllers ripped out in a box that had water damage and the keyboard cover was missing but the guy swore it worked and would sell it to me nearly nothing 30 dollars. Oh yeah it was missing the AC adpater and had no games. At least he said it worked how the $%^& did he test it..... Magic telepathical powers of extraordinary abilities are my guess for the test.
I found a Supermario/duckhunt which was super rare as I was told for 10 bucks, and a stack of Atari 2600 games the seller told me go for 20 bucks each on ebay. THe games were and I kid you not "combat, frogger, asteriods, missile command, donkey kong, starmaster and chopper command. :(
THe only thing I got that I thought was pretty cool and I had never seen before was whats in the picture. So I guess it was kind of worth it... Nice random item to display on top of a shelf in the game room....:D
Oh yeah this was priced at 5.00 I talked him down to 3.00... I had to have it...

I read this last night and thought vigilance I don't think there are many more good finds left... I used to almost weekly find something I was proud of but in the last few years I have found next to nothing. THere was swap show today here in COlumbus and I thought about going and then I was like nay I am not gonna go this morning and my wife was like "I have to work so why not go see whats there its only 5 minutes away and if it sucks just come home." So I pondered for a while and thought what the hell. Well while not one of my great glory days finds from back in the late 90's I have to say I did pretty well.
An original heavy sixer with grey plug and 3 boxed games including indy 500 with the big box for $13.00.
Smurfs save the day cart and all 3 cassettes and 2 loose atari games 15.00.
Finally Well I bid on this and won it it was 30 bucks but its a one of a kind hack made for this little meet OSU the streak and its a hack of keystone kapers but you are chasing a naked streaking woman through OSU stadium "The horseshoe" So my faith is restored.
Oh yeah the last picture is of the box the guy packed the atari and games in, how random!
Also I got the card of a guy who was like I see you got a kid vid game I have one at home in the original box and all I am getting rid of if you want it I'll sell it to you for like 40 bucks so I have to call that guy...
SO anyway keep the faith they are out there you just have to keep looking...

Great score on the Smurfs Saves The Day. I ended up hitting the So Cal swaps this morning and walked away with:
1) Nice boxed 4-Port Atari 5200 w/ all connections and 5 games - $20
2) Odyssey II system for $10
3) C64 Music Mate Synth Keyboard - no cart though - $5
Anyone interested in trading anything for the Atari 5200? I will be testing this weekend, but by the looks of it, it will work great. Super clean and box in decent shape too !

I'm waiting for more info on the game supposedly it was made by a local columbus guy and he made on specifically for the meet. He may or may not make a few more down the road I was told, but this one has the name and date of this meet so its a one of a kind. Not worth a whole bunch but a nice piece to remember the day by I suppose...

Was wondering how the ACEC swapmeet was today... I missed it as I had to take my daughter to a soccer game in Dayton OH...
Was looking for Atari 8-bit and Jaguar stuff... See anything like that hanging around? If not I'm glad I didn't make the drive :)

IF you are referring to the Atari computer one here in COlumbus Ohio there was no jaguar stuff although one guy brought some to play, but there was a crap load of 400, 800, 1200, falcon stuff and games literately tables full of them. I'm not a big atari computer collector but if I were it would of been real nice..

Yup ACEC is the Atari Computer Enthusiasts Columbus... Dang wish I had been able to go now, I could have picked up some cool swag at the 400/800 tables... Did you look at the prices, was it priced okay? I might have to make sure I make it next year...

I'm not really a big Atari computer collector more of a true video game guy, but the prices I saw were all over the place. One table had boxed games for a buck, another 5.00 each, another 3 for 10.00. One guy had alot of videogame stuff Atari Nintendo and all that but he was asking strange prices, like 10.00 for a miner 2049er loose, 5.00 for a combat. He also was shockingly selling abunch of loose nintendo commons for like 5 bucks a piece and people were literately lining up, they must be starved for games. He was selling Zelda and SMB for like 5-10 dollars each loose with no instructions or boxes... But then I got some real good deals from a couple other sellers. All together there were about 20 tables and about 10 real sellers. There were at least 50 different atari 400, 800, 1200, Adam computers for sale all pretty good I think in the 25-50 range. Most of them needed a cleaning but otherwise decent. Lots of loose disk software and lots of boxed Atari COmputer software and games...
