OK so its quality rather than quantity! My O2 collection is almost complete and today I bagged - Power Lords! My single biggest purchase in quite some time, I am extremely happy to have one of the rarest North American releases. Only 3 more rare European releases and I should be more or less complete I think.

Sega CDX for $5 or Quest For A Rare Power Adapter

So, I found a Sega Genesis CDX unit at Goodwill for $4.99. It appears to be in good shape, some wear around the video port. I put some AA batteries in and the CD player part works, volume wheel a little twitchy, but the CD plays fine. However, like most rare systems you find in the wild for cheap, there are no cables. I have the controllers and AV cables from my other Sega systems, but the power adapter for the CDX is unique among Sega consoles. So, my quest begins.

I do my research. Checked the Wiki page. Hit the forums. Check Ebay prices. Some guy trying to sell an original for $80. Others claiming that plugs for others systems are also for the CDX. Decide to look for alternatives. I need a 9.5V 1.5A. Found some forum threads that lead to a promising alternative, the Sima SUP-60. These posts are old and the SUP-60 is now discontinued and going for $20+ out of package before shipping. None of the universal adapters currently being sold have a 9.5v setting, that I could find. The search continues.

I am not in a rush. I have a Sega CD model 2 already, so it is not like I am hurting to play me some Sega CD. $25 for a power adapter, for an extra system is a little much. I was hoping to find something in the $10 or less range. My next move is to hit the thrift stores and dig around in boxes full of tangled cables for a match, unless someone here can point me somewhere else.

Cables and power adapters are such a pain. I have crates and totes of the things for consoles, computers, stereos, cellphones, keyboards, routers, modems, and just about every other electrical device, I have ever owned, even the ones that are broken or gone, and I keep them for times like this and I still end up not having the right one when I need it. It's maddening, but I guess it a part of the hobby.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading my rambling rant.

I am the co-owner and head admin of the Minecraft server; Server88.

It is pretty much a private server. It is white-listed 1.2.4 craftbukkit server, running various plugins. We do not have many active players, but we have a large world with the catacombs dungeon system, mob arena, mcmmo, and several more plguins to make the game play more interesting.

Our server is hosted on a Ubuntu 11.04 VPS with a 20 gig hd, 2 gigs of RAM, 500 gigs monthly bandwidth, 100 mb/s upload and download, and duel Intel Xeon E3-1240 processors.

What is your Game-Boy Tetris High Score?

I'm not that great at video games but I still love playing them. My current high score in Tetris DX is: 323,776 points in Marathon Mode starting at level 9. (played on my GB Light) I can't remember what my high score was back in the day but I do remember seeing the Russian Space shuttle launch cut scene and was amazed.

So what is your Game Boy Tetris High Score? Has anyone on the forums reached the 999,999 points possible in tetris?

So my machines were nearly complete accept for some lights. So I changed out bulbs, that didn't work, I traced wires, checked voltage, nope nothing wrong. Finally I noticed that they were wired wrong, apparently from the factory (3 in a row). So I switched the wires around and viola! The next light had me totally baffled, until I realised it needed a diode which was also not installed at the factory. A fifth one had a broken diode. This was on a Data East game, my Williams is definitely better built and assembled.

So anyway, I had usually assumed the factory layout was correct but you really can't rely on that.

Family members called just to make sure I had the pins up and running and that they couldn't wait to play. They are certainly an investment I don't regret making.

I just did a bit of It came from MAME myself, and played two games from the classic era that both struck me for being absolutely badly done. Funky Bee and Black Hole (TDS).

Respect if anyone here have dear memories of these titles.

A game may be ugly to look at and still fun. But some games are just unfair, unbalanced, to have dull challenge, uncompleted or clearly released as is to cash in on an idea that didn't turn out to work.

Gotta love buying non working items and them being a simple fix. Picked up a non working Vectrex off of Ebay for 30 bucks.

All that was wrong was one of the IC chips was loose in the socket and there was some corrosion damage to the pins in the socket. cleaned it up, rebent the pins and now i have another working vectrex!!!
