    Default It pays to recycle

O.K..... So we had a great town wide sales this weekend. Freed up a ton of space.... Bought an SNES with 8 games, Coleco ADAM with diskette drive, Atari 5200 with 9 games, NES with 10 games, and a Sega Genesis Md 2 with all hookups and 2 controllers (no games).

Then, today my wife took some cardboard and plastic jugs to the recycle bins when what to her wondering eyes should appear......

    <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/?action=view&current=Picture003.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/Picture003.jpg" border="0" alt="nes side"></a>

    <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/?action=view&current=Picture004.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/Picture004.jpg" border="0" alt="nes top"></a>

    <a href="http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/?action=view&current=Picture005.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh78/ibuyoldgames/Picture005.jpg" border="0" alt="SNES side"></a>

Just the boxes and original styrofoam inserts and the plastic bags from the manuals, etc. Good to Very good condition. You'd better believe I headed back down to the recycle bins after work, but this was all that was there. Now my OCD will be driving me nuts wondering what they did with the contents.

If everyone who wishes there was an alternative to Ebay would buy or sell one item a month on GameGavel, there would be.

someone probably found those at a garage sale, took the systems out of the boxes and tossed them. Non collectors have no use for a box.

Someone at work had another good theory. Kids grew up and left home. Took their NES and SNES with them without thinking about the boxes.. Couple of years later, Mom and Dad clean out the garage and get rid of the empty boxes.

Wow, those boxes are nice! The boxes get crushed in these parts, that's a sure find!

Can you take pics of the Adam?? Hearing about that made my eyes widen, with the cassette player even!

I guess I have OCD, too, cause I would be doing the same thing!

I'll try to get some pictures of the Adam in the next few days. It's pretty dirty, but I think it'll clean up nice. Not just the cassette drives, but an actual floppy drive! I think those are pretty scarce and I didn't have one yet.

I need to check my collection and see if these upgrade what I've got. I'll then decide whether to list the empty boxes or put systems in them. I've promised Scott (pats1717) first shot at the NES box if I sell it.

I'll give you first shot at the SNES box if I decide to sell it. I'll also let you know if Scott opts not to take the NES box (provided it ends up for sale.)
