In your latest top 10 of retro sports games I can't help thinking you may have missed the finest sports game ever made, ofcourse I'm talking about the mighty "Speedball 2" a Bitmap Brothers classic! I had it on the ST and it was probably the most played game I had for that system. We even had tournament nights dedicated to the game.

Worse was the whining about Virtua Tennis. It's a great game! Play it and you'll see!

I've never enjoyed tennis games, but this series is so intuitive.

UK Mike and SubaruBrat are on crack.

I had to vote Decathalon - that game was a real workout, and you could always shave an extra 0.01 seconds off.

I'm surprised the Intellivision sports games weren't on there, especially Baseball and Football. 2-player only, but really well done, especially at the time. Yeerrrrrrr out. The "Games" series also deserved a nod.

I am glad Flare listed Baseball Stars for the NES. This is by far the best baseball game. Having the ability to build a team from scratch and setup leagues was just awesome. I'm 43 and I remember spending way to much time playing this while in college. Yeah the graphics were not great, but it was really just an all around FUN game.

Baseball Stars for the Neo Geo was not as good.

Finally getting a chance to listen to the top 10 for July. SoCalMike is dead on - Virtua Tennis getting bumped is a travesty. It's just so much FUN. That's the thing - it completely succeeds as a video game even if you have no interest whatsoever in tennis.

Virtua Tennis was my favorite tennis game, actually it is still in my top five multiplayer games. But I'm afraid it's not as good as Wii Sports Resorts table tennis (it's beyond sublime)

Ok. So first off I have to ask, you guys all obviously are not big fans of sports and are almost aggressively disinterested in sports games. I can understand that. I too am not a big fan of sports or sport games. But why would you do a top ten on games you've never played and have no interest in? What's next, top 10 pet simulators?

I think you guys should have included racing games. I know scott and UK are big racing game fans. I'm not a big racing game fan, but I've always considered racing games like colin mcrae and nascar as sports games.

I think you should have let in RBI and pulled either decathalon or track and field. Personally, I'd have booted track and field. That game was a damned ugly thumb buster.

Final thing. So cal is right. Virtua tennis was a DC show piece it is a disgrace that it was booted! A disgrace sirs! Good day!
