    Default My Haul 7/12/08

Well, Bruce's auctions must have aligned the planets because low and behold this morning I scored a great condition Colecovision for $20.

Also picked up an in the package Coleco Perma Power adapter to run the Coleco Arcade table top games. This will put on the Chuckwagon for auction. $2

I scored a How To Win At Pac Man book $1

And three CDS - Springsteen The River - $2, Skid Row $2, Sting Dream of the Blue Turtles $2.

Overall a pretty decent day !

Sweet Mike, nice haul! Yeah I am soooo looking forward to receiving my ColecoVision, it's been on my mind lately, I consider it one of the more under appreciated systems pre-nintendo. The Christmas I got the system and several games is one of my best memories, I loved the arcade ports of Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Mr. Do!, Popeye, etc. I ordered the muli cart to which can play up to 128 roms on the original hardware so I can re-live all the memories but save space (keeps the wife happy lol!) I have heard Colecovision was not the most well made system so I think ythey are quickly becoming rare.

One thing I find funny, I admit many of my purchases are mostly for nostalgia sake, I actaully want a CDi and even a Atari Jag at some point, I know they are not great systems and I have more games already then I will ever be able to play but there is just SOMETHING about playing classic systems, I never had some of these bad systems but finally getting them and playing them just takes me back, it;s like experiencing them for the first time is more exciting to me then even XBOX360 or PS3. I guess I have the retro gaming bug bad huh??

Ya, we all got it BAD I actually like the Atari Jaguar. Although I am between Jags right now. I find'em somewhat frequently and then sell them. I really need to keep the next one I find. I especially like the CD system as well. There are some pretty cool games, and the fact that it's Atari's last real system makes it a "gotta have".
