Default Test drove the new Camaro today

Maybe, maybe. I also looked over the Mustang GT500. Lots of thinking to do on this one

Z06, correct, and funny thing is it is one of few American cars that Top Gear (my favorite car show, and the only one that is watchable) like or give much praise to. The funny thing for me is that I have owned English and Japanese cars as well as Italian and German for all my life but only 2 American cars. I am not so much brand or country loyal as I am focused on individual models. My wife has grown tired of commuting to work in what are essentially track cars. We have the Lotus and the STi both with allot of horsepower mods and suspension tweaks and of course the Lotus has bare aluminum floors. She has asked for one car that has heated leather seats and doesn't shake you around like a paint mixer. So, I looked at the CTS-V, GT500, and Camaro. I am leaning toward Camaro dropping in a supercharger and leaving it otherwise stock.

American cars are just fine in their comparable categories in terms of performance and quality, I think Top Gear is just treats them that way because it is popular to do so which is disappointing as I respect their views in general. The problem is that generally American car makers don't produce anything that I want. The Corvette is a fine car and competes solidly in the supercar category, if it had a Ferrari emblem and were otherwise the same it would sell for three times the price, it was nice to see Top Gear recognize that.

It was actually Top Gear where I learned of the Z06 hehe... My fav show also, actually one of the few UK TV shows -al all- that I find watchable! I love cars, and especially those that are different from the norm. I have a SAAB myself, a car I wanted for a long time since the very first time I got the opportunity to drive one as I got a loaner through a car hire company from work... I was smitten instantly and spent the following five years or so saving for and finally finding my dream car - a 9-5 Aero... It only comes with 250BHP and FWD but its still a joy to drive and doesnt garner any attention except for the fact that it looks a bit different.

Took a Subaru WRX STi out for a test drive a few years back, lovely low end torque but fades away once you get up and over 3rd gear... by the sounds of it you have that little issue sorted

I couldnt imagine handling a more powerful muscle car, especially RWD, I think I would be dead...

What do you think about the Saabaru, the 9-2X which is a WRX with a bowtie.

Yeah the 9-2X was a bit of a weird one! Dont know much about it but I guess having a bit of Subaru WRX dna added into the SAAB wasnt a bad thing, the car might not have lasted but the AWD did as the new SAABs have the latest gen haldex system now.

I submitted a request for a quote on the Z28 Camaro which should be the GT500 equivalent. If it specs as we think the 2SS with a procharger may be a leap ahead or the same performance, lots to compare.

Right now it looks like we are going with the 2SS Camaro and the Procharger setup to up it to 600hp even. I am headed in next week to talk numbers. This is our commuter car while I await the arrival of the Evora from Lotus. They are a few quarters behind so far, but I expect they will get it out on a reasonable schedule.
