I sound like a broken record here but man... every single level I play in this game, I marvel at the design, the cleverness.

Every galaxy is a pleasant surprise in old-school gaming delight. The suits, the challenges, the intelligent ramp-up in difficulty, the surprises.

I bow to the designers of this game, they really know what they're doing. Now I want to play the first mario galaxy (and maybe even sunshine) once I'm done with this.

You know, I started to play both A Shadow's Tale and Donkey Kong Returns before this; but none of them match the pleasure I'm getting with this one, so I put those two on hold .

Finished the game last night, with 102 stars. The last galaxy is a pleasure to play, they essentially test all of your skills and that's pretty much the same way Nintendo always ramps up difficulty in their titles. It's a beautiful thing.

SPOILER: I was a little disappointed with the last boss (Bowser of course). It's practically the same fight as in Worlds 2 and 4, with an added scene. Normally, Super Mario games have incredibly epic "last boss" fights, this one fell a little flat. But OK, at least the level before it made up for it.

Now, moving on to Star World for the really hard levels. I shall get all 120 stars in this game.

    *SPOILER*

So last night I managed get the 120th star, I was so happy because I thought I was done (but a little bummed out because I noticed there was one more galaxy that hadn’t open up in the “S” World). The purple dude on my ship asked me to talk to some green stars that told me the game wasn’t over until the monster was destroyed. That kinda gave me the indication that perhaps they wanted me to beat Bowser again, now with “all” 120 stars in my pocket. I do that and after the credits I was surprised to see the Rosalina chick tell a story about some green stars.

I’m thrown back to the game and suddenly, every single level gets the number of stars doubled. Now I have to replay every single level up to 3 more times and essentially find 120 more (green) stars! Once I get all 240 stars I’ll be able to play the final Grandmaster Galaxy!

WTF, really? 240 stars? Did the first galaxy game had this many?

Wow, guess I’m still on this game for a while, a long while. I really want to see and play that last galaxy.

I loved the first game, It looks like I'll have to get my hands on a Wii for the second.

And as for the wonder of marveling at mario games, every single game has reinvented itself over a 26 year period. I cannot in the same breath mention two mario games that are exactly alike. You have to give it to people who figured out how to hide stuff in plain sight. These are master craftsman. Its why every mario game, from the very first to the newest still plays like a stratovarius.

Ya loved this game. I thought SMG 1 was the best game on the Wii, but this sequel surpassed my expectations. Got all the stars on both games. Took some time but enjoyed it.

Yeah so I decided to give it a shot and aim to get all 240 stars in the game. I started last night and so far I found 192 stars. I got all green stars in Worlds 1, 2, 3 and 4.

I'm planning on finding the ones in 5, 6 and S tonight. I really want to see the last galaxy.
