Ah yeah, that was a fantastic movie I remember. And yes, the ending was truly shocking and highly unsettling.

I watched The Killer Inside Me last night. It's based on the 1952 novel of the same name.

You know, it's not what I expected it would be. I understood that this movie was sickening, distasteful, revoltingly brutal, and not for the squeamish, but in reality this is a thriller about a psychopath and the process of losing his sanity through the movie. Yes, there are a few brutal scenes that are hard to watch, but more than sadistic, they were just very sad and tormenting.

Everyone's performance is outstanding, Casey Affleck simply knocked out of the park on this one.

Some people will definitely find it slow-paced and boring, but I enjoyed so much watching the mystery unravel that I even put up with the rather weak ending.

    Worth checking out.

4 out of 5 stars for me.

Is Casey Affleck a relation of Ben Affleck (the original acting wardrobe?)

I think you knew that already from the time Ben directed Gone Baby Gone starring Casey, his brother.

Aah, I knew Ben directed it but didn't realise the connection in the film.

    D'oh!

That was a great film btw.

Flare, please please PLEASE, don't bring your gawd awful movie suggestions here. I luv ya man, but your taste in horror is just shock splatter violence. After the movie where they skinned a live dog, I stopped watching any movie you suggested. You'd have thought I learned after that poo eating porn you suggested, but no. I gave you another chance. And I got a dog skinning for my efforts.

If you have any GOOD horror movies, please post them. But keep your perverted, wierd, dog skinning, poo eating, beat you in the head with a hammer flicks that have no purpose, out of the general viewing area.

    (so, ya miss me?) lolz

There's this trio of movies that the folks at Screened.com (a podcast I listen to every week) have reviewed and talked about on their show which I've been highly intrigued about and wanted to watch: Exit Through the Gift Shop, Dogtooth and Trash Humpers.

Out of the three, I've already watched exit Through The Gift Shop and Dogtooth...

Screened.com loved "Exit Through The Gift Shop" and the insane twist of this documentary, I liked it, liked Terry as the main protagonist, but I guess I "didn't get" the twist so it just felt like a mild surprise, I was a little confused about it even after reading his review afterwards. But in essence it was a good watch.

Dogtooth I watched last night, and my wife watched it as well; I'm not sure why since I don't normally put these movies up during normal viewing hours. Indeed, this movie is downright sick. There's a message in there if you dig deep, but the disturbingly bizarre scenes are so distracting it's hard to think straight. Agree with Alex on the sex scenes, it couldn't have been less erotic if you had replace both characters with a robot and a corpse, haha. I liked the picture a whole lot; my wife was able to stand it, save for a few really crude and violent scenes.

I'm only missing to find a copy of Trash Humpers, the supremely weird lo-hi feature by Harmonie Korine. I'll report back once it's out on Netflix
