Yeah it is. They call it The Pestilence. It actually felt like Boromir dropped on the set of this movie.

I love the film The Thing and the original black and white version it is based on (The Thing From Another Planet), but now we have an upcoming Prequel in the works.

I am excited about this one.

You want a good movie recommendation? Watch INCENDIES, one of this year's oscar nominees for Best Foreign Language film. It's from (French) Canada.

Dude, this movie is a fucking kick in the head, holy shit!

This is a film that’s best experienced blind, with as little knowledge of the events within as possible. In the end, it may overreach a bit by striving for almost mythological consequences, but it’s an easily forgivable sin, given the emotional heights that it reaches.

The finale of this film is literally stunning. It’s melodramatic at times, a bit messy, and the finale relies on a revelation that’s just shy of being entirely credible, but superb acting and an unflinching look at the proverbial sins of the father make this a film-going experience that’ll stick in your mind long after you exit the theater.

    So it's quite good then?

I have a rule, if I see one of these good, high quality movies (which I do on occasion) I HAVE to watch a movie at the other side of the quality spectrum.
For this I often use films from the production company called "The Asylum" who are the masterminds behind gems like "Transmorphers", "I am Omega" and "Snakes on a train" and "Mega shark VS Giant Octupus". I can have fun at their expense and it makes me enjoy the good movies even more.

Ha! I watched a film recently called Piranha from 1995. One of the opening scenes had a young girl stripping and going for a swim and I thought:

Hmm, I bet she ends up in porn.
    and sure enough, she did.

A tingeling super-sense you, no doubt, aquired by getting bitten by a radio-active Larry Flynt.

By the way, I have also been following the development of the "The Thing"-prequel. It seems that they are doing it right judging from what I have seen so far.
