Default Super Mario Collection (all Stars) Special pack

Well, a Japanese Retailer has announced that Nintendo will be releasing Super Mario Collection (the Japanese name to All Stars) onto the Wii. The game will include the original games, Super Mario Bros 1, 2(Lost Levels), 3 and USA (our 2). But it will include a DVD about the franchise and the Famicom, a Sound track that includes every Mario Game from Bros 1, to Galaxy 2, and features a DVD case sized hardback book about the Mario franchise and a hardback manual for the game.

A Hardback manual... in this day and age, when they're trying to get rid of them, lol.

    Looks pretty cool, however...

This is just Mario All Stars on Wii with no extra games, but with bonus content... Why can't we get a Re-made version of Super Mario World, and Super Mario 64 running on the Galaxy engine?

Oh well, here's hoping that next year, the US and UK release will have more stuff in it than this.

Oh BTW, this game is going to cost ¥2,500, which is about $30/£20. So it's kinda of a budget price. Still, I want my remade version of Mario 64!

That costs money and takes effort. Why spend the money and make an effort when they can sell us the exact same thing all over again in neat packaging and make a KILLING. :P The DVD and the book sound kinda neat though, depending on how well they're done of course. Could care less about the soundtrack though. I'd probably get it just for those two things since they're probably stuff that hasn't been recycled.

The sad part is, there is a version of Super Mario All Stars WITH Super Mario World. Pure laziness.

I'd go for this just because I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff.

Here's what really irks me though, really sort of pisses me off even....why don't we get THIS sort of stuff in the US Club Nintendo Store!?!?! No, we get postcards, folders, and stylus sets. Let's get something like THIS into the Club Nintendo Store here in the US! That's what I want to see as a "reward" for doing all the surveys and buying the products.

This could be interesting. The extras sound good, but you can't help but feel that throwing Super Mario All-Stars on it's own onto a disc instead of Virtual Console feels a bit lazy.

This is a retail release game, not a club nintendo item.

Yeah, but do bare in mind that Japan never got the SMW version of AllStars. US got it as a Pack-in, and UK/EU did get it as a retail release.

But yeah, I'm still going to say it....

Give me Super Mario 64 in the Galaxy engine!

Yeah I know, I'm just saying it would be cool as Club Nintendo swag.

I know it was a pack in, but that doesn't mean anything in the modern day. Hell, if anything it's more of a reason to put it on that disc. lol

    Speaking of Anniversaries...

Nintendo of America has made a site for Mario's 25th. http://mario25.nintendo.com

It shows a video of all of Mario's Tv console platformers from '85 to '10.

Bare in mind that it doesn't show any of the "All-Stars" versions of Bros 1-3 and Lost Levels.

Ok, it turns out that Nintendo are releasing this to the West. It's got a European release for the 5th of December...

However... it's IDENTICAL to the Japanese version, no Super Mario World, no Super Mario 64.

But... it's only going to be for £20! Which is cheap for a release price. Concidering that my SNES version has a dead battery in it, I could get this... But I still want my Mario 64 remake Nintendo!!!!! *shakes fists*

Plus I love how the bonus DVD is blantantly a Photoshoped version of the Japanese version, but slaped an NES in the Famicom's way, lol.

Like I said, you more than likely aren't going to see a Mario 64 remake with the Sunshine engine or whatever the hell it is ... things like that cost money. Why would they spend money when they can release stuff like this.

Nintendo's gotten used to spending little to no money and making a HUGE return lately, why would they change that? If it works, do it. :P I'll probably end up getting it for the DVD, just because it'd probably cost around that much if it was by itself anyway. Watch it once and shelve it.
