Hi Jackie!

Yes, it was me that was requesting more coverage about Japan. I already know a great deal after years of research, but not everybody has been exposed to it. You need to understand the Japanese side of the story to get a full picture of gaming during the early 80's to mid 90's.

Topics that have not really been covered before by Retro Gaming Roundup...

Graphics, animation, and special chips being removed from Japanese Famicom games when localized for the US and Europe. The cut scenes removed from Gryzor when it was localized into Contra for example.

Prolific Japanese developers like Nihon Falcom. I've never heard the RGR crew discuss games like Legacy of the Wizard, Ys, and Faxanadu (Famicom Xanadu, get it?)

The Japanese consider the older, and more simplistic Famicom titles classics. Games like Atlantis No Nazo and Ikki, not late 80's titles like Bionic Commando.

Games that have ties to Manga or Anime, or were re-skinned for the West. Dragon Power for the NES was a Dragon Ball game in Japan. Black Belt for Master System was a Fist of the North Star game.

I have no idea how to structure something like this. There's enough information on these topics alone to cover hours and hours worth of audio. And there are so many other topics to be covered as well. It's a daunting proposition...
