They paid you $7 to take some Game Informers off their hands? Nice! ;-)

And those strategy guides, and those issues of EGM. lol I also got the Sonic Tiger game from there. I love those LCD games, I just can't seem to find any ... and they're just INSANELY priced on eBay.

Those are some nice finds the strategy guides seem a bit much when hardback books go for $2 or less at the Goodwill around here. How is the Drew Carey book? Have you seen the price is right he looks so thin now!

The Drew Carey book after checking the receipt was 30 cents, and the Mario and Zelda strategy guides were, like, 2 bucks apiece. The Goodwill I normally hit just moved into a HUGE new building, so I have a feeling they're jacking up prices a little bit to try to help pay for it. Go figure.

And I haven't really watched TV since MTV actually showed videos (with the occasional episode of House as an exception, but I haven't even watched that on TV in quite a while). I honestly don't even have cable. I just use Netflix Instant Watch and torrents. So I wouldn't know anything at all about The Price is Right.

Let the flames begin, but I haven't been in a Goodwill in nearly 15 years? I went in looking for an inexpensive coffee table, and night stand when I first moved out. They were charging prices comparable to what a furniture store would charge for new stuff and the stuff they had was crap. Yet newer hardbacks were 50 cents and cd's a buck?? About 5 years ago my gf at the time and I went into a Value Village don't remember why, but they had a bunch of everyday, non tie in, no promotion Taco Bell cups for 75 cents each. The cheap fragile ones that break if squeezed to tight.

My personal joke for years has been what is Goodwill trying to do pay off the national debt for us? For a charitable organization that is basically funded by our donations they charge outrageous freaking prices.

Bah, no flames. I just go in there whenever I get my check to see if I can see something cheap and neat. Some things that I saw in there were 2 NES games. The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros 2. Loose carts with one of those black plastic Nintendo sleeves. 10 bucks apiece. Brutal Legend for the Xbox 360 for $30.49 (it's 20 bucks brand new at places like Gamestop). The PC version of Riven for $15. There are tons of things I ignore in there. heh

Since I have gotten into the retro thing, and looking at the forums, I almost went into Goodwill last week, cause I had an hour to kill and one was there but the parking lot was PACKED...

Sorry but our local Goodwill has some insane prices for old videogames. I went in there last weekend on my weekly hunts and they had 3 Atari 2600 carts...a PacMan, Vanguard and a Missle Command..all 3 were in horrific condition. The labels were mostly ripped off of them and they looked like they had been buried in the ground for 2 weeks....and of course, they wanted $3 each for them.

They lost charity status here in S.C. and in Georgia several years ago. Now they're business operations have expanded and each one of their "thrift stores" also has a "Job Connection" employment agency office, and their local main store even has a Subway. I really don't understand why people still donate stuff to them when they admit they're compacitng over half the donated goods. They're even so snotty as to refuse dontations of certain types of items, such as electronics now. All they deal in now is clothing, some media (mostly books and CD's), small funriture, and household items.
