Default Gamebox - anyone have one of these?

Wondering if anyone has one? I was thinking of picking one up

It plays Mame, Genesis, SNES and PC-Engine!

Not very much on that site about the unit. I'm guessing you know which systems it supports from the "Game FORMATS support" list? It says "Flash: 2GB" I wonder if that means there is an SD slot?

edit : "Features micro SD card interface" right in the overview

Yes - SD card support and the formats are standard extensions / filetypes for the rom images of the systems I mentioned. Plus I have seen discussion on other boards about it

I'd be concerned about the usual issues, including video/sound quality (and being composite only is not a good sign) and emulator quality. Would love to hear more about this...

Beh, the visuals will probably be fine (assuming the emulator is worth a crap) ... composite on older games doesn't mean much of anything. Much higher than that and it starts making the games look a little TOO good. *shudder*

Yeah I don't care about it being composite (in fact, I'm actually the rare breed thats actually happy with it being composite!) but I just wonder about how it 'feels' (the controllers - are they good build quality? whats the interface like? Whats the emulation like? etc etc). For under $60 I may just go for it and do a review.

Yeah, the only time you need any better than composite is when you're talkin' the Xbox 360, PS3, Blu-Rays, blah blah blah. heh

Actually, from the Genesis forward, everything benefits from doing better than composite...

Not to me it doesn't. On the SNES, Genesis and PS1, it makes the games entirely TOO clear and is actually a severe detriment to the look. Using S-Video, or heaven forbid component (even though I've only ever used S-Video personally) on anything before the PS2 is overkill and makes the games look TOO clear, which in turn to me makes them look absolutely horrible.
