Default What is the ugliest gaming device you own or know of?

There are tons of new devices being released all the time what are some of the ugliest designs you can remember?

I am going to have to add the Xbox 360 to the list. I remember when it launched J. Allard always talked about the concave look of the system. He would say marketing terms all the time like it acts as an inhale, something before letting out an emotion of energy. Who talks like that? If anybody can find this video please post this epic marketing fail video.

A second entry would have to be the magnifier glasses for the original gameboy. My brother had one of these plastic monstrosity and the thing smelled of horrible design. Not only was the device bigger than the gameboy but it did not even work as designed.

Atari Jaguar with the Jaguar CD.

Now, mind you, I'm not knocking the system. I loved it when I had it. But still. What the fuck were they thinking.

The ugliest gaming device I own is the Duracell Advance(tm), from Yese.

Ok, so it only has one front button, but hey, so does the Wii no? And I guess they chose to use the GBA design for a good reason. Who wants to deal with cracked hinges anyway? Not me.

Now this.... is awesome; the one feature that makes this a killer device is the fact that it works with standard AA batteries. I wonder if Duracell doesn't mind that I use Energizer?

Weird, I'm pressing the R shoulder button but it doesn't seem to work, it's either fake or stuck. I don't believe they would put a fake button in this unit so I assume it's stuck. Maybe it's like shoes, I have to break it in.

Choices, choices... do I want to play the "668 in 1", the "2004 in 1", or... the freakingly awesome "8888 in 1"! Clearly, this is a no-brainer.

Hmm... well... I guess it doesn't matter because even without a gamecard in the unit, the device turns on and I can still play lots of exciting games! Hey, Tetris is exciting no?

I'm smart, the money I've been saving to buy my daughter her own 3DS can be put to other uses, because I can see she's loving her Duracell Advance.

What? You mean to tell me this is also a phone? Dayom! These guys thought of everything!

Final thoughts. This is a steal, if you shop around (in Mexico) you can easily find this incredible handheld for less than 20 pesos ($2 USD). Just be careful of cheap imitations; be sure to look for Yese, the brand that has made so many latinamerican kids happy, it's almost illegal.

My beloved Sears Super Video Arcade aka Sears Intellivison, I think it is the beige, it looks sickly... Most everything Atari did after the "Vader", Sorry I hate the Vader it looks like some kid spray painted his 2600. The NES looks like a shoe box. And if I am not flamed yet I am sure this will the PS3 fat is effing HIDEOUS, and I am not a big fan of the new black 360 S or slim or what ever they decided to call it

    Default N64

I think for my money, the n64 would be in the running. Especially the clear ones. The controllers were ugly and unwieldy, the system itself was no more or less ascetically pleasing than a polyp, and frankly I felt the whole thing needed redesigning. I loved some of the games made for it, but the thing in and of it self was boring.

Sometimes I agree with that and sometimes I don't.

When I sold mine I did not regret it, for a while.

It is the only victim of my cull that I have replaced. My new one should be here soon.

    Default I agree too

Don;t get me wrong, the idea of the thing was really good. It was one of the few instances Nintendo didn't execute the design well. I mean, ascetically the gamecube was a box. Just a box. But the cool buttons, and interesting colors made them so much more interesting.
I just didn't like how it looked.
