Default Game Galaxy - Hickory Hollow Mall - Nashville, TN

The only "real" arcade in the Nashville area that I know. The mall it is in has seen better days. I would not want to be in the parking lot at night. The cheap theater next to the mall pats you down for weapons at night. Besides that, the arcade is great.

Looks nice. That Defender sitting in the entrance looks sweet! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the forums.

Looks like a nice selection of games - nothing like that in any malls around here!
If you can't do it with 8 bits, you don't need to do it.

The Defender does look sweet but also looks either broken or converted - whats with the blue screen? Is it the rug/test pattern? I'm liking the Congo Bongo (I think thats what I see in pic 4) - not very often you see one of those, let alone in the wild.

Yep, that is a Congo Bongo.

I have played a Defender there before, but I don't think it was in the front. Maybe it was broke when I took the picture.

I may go back next week. May take a few pics. I made a audio recording of my gameplay the last time I was there. They rotate games and get new ones often. There pinball section has increased. I think they have a list on their site.

Someone told me that the guy who runs it wrote for Tips and Tricks magazine at some point.

I love Congo Bongo - an underrated game IMO. I played it to death on the C64. Are the games in nice cosmetic condition?

Most are in great condition, but a few are pretty bad. One shoot em up game I thought the whole fricking control panel was going to fall off. It was only held on by some clear tape! They seem to keep their older stuff in pretty good condition. The operator is quick to yell at people if they are sitting on or doing something to hurt the machines.

They have so many machines that they tried to expand into another mall closer to me, but it failed after a few months sadly. That is how I found this one though.

Really nice selection of games - if I were nearby I'd be in there all the time - get my fun while it lasts, these places are few and far between.
That reminds me I need to make a trip to Santa Cruz boardwalk real soon!

Made another trip to the arcade. Here are more pics of the place. Also, I re-sized the images for faster loading.
