    Default Greetings From Sunny Florida

    Hey all
You have a great community here so thought I'd join up and have some fun with ya'll!
I've been gaming/colelcting games since I received my first Atari 2600 on Christmas of 1981. Over the years I've owned just about every main system out there and I used to sell a LOT of games and systems on ebay until about 2003 when it just wasn't much fun anymore. Recently my daughters(9 and 7) got me back into the classic gaming; we bought a Sega 3, NES top loader, Sega Dreamcast and have been trying to find a Sega Master System but haven't had much luck with that other then ebay.
We just arrived here in Florida, moved from New York, way up by Canada and I've heard there's some great flea markets here so I'm very excited to say the least.
I'll post some pics of what we've bought up so far as soon as everything is unpacked from our moving POD.

Welcome to the GG forums and Florida! I'm in Orlando. We moved here from Chicago almost 8 years ago. Flea World in Sanford has a number of good classic game dealers - that's definitely your best bet. I always find good stuff going there. There's a place called "The Hobby Spot" on Fairbanks Ave, just a few blocks East of I4 in Orlando, and they have a nice selection of stuff as well. The prices are on the high side, but there are still some decent deals to be found (I got 5200 Star Raiders w/ overlays for $3.99 - not bad). If you find any other good places in the area, definitely shoot me a message!

If you can't do it with 8 bits, you don't need to do it.

    Thanks for the welcome guys!
BydoEmpire73 , I think I was at The Hobby Spot if they're in the same plaza as that big craft store, cause I know there was a hobby shop my family and I checked out which had trains, models, etc but I didn't see any video games what so ever so maybe it's not the same place, but I did check out their website a bit and sure the prices are a bit much on some games but maybe they'll help fill some games on my list.

retroshaun , The wife, kids and I went down to Florida to visit a few relatives in February on the kids mid winter break from school and we fell in love with the area and found a house with rent with option to buy so we wrapped up things here in NY, let the kids finish school and their dance recitals and we took the plunge. We came down with no jobs but we have enough in savings to live comfortably for a year while my wife applies for teaching positions and I decide what I'm gonna do either with my music or writing for local publications.

Wow, I really commend you for that! We're no where near daring enough (and have no where near enough savings!) to make such a risky move. Where are you in FL? We want to move to southern FL ideally but I'm looking at a possible job "at some point" (ie it was meant to be the start of this year and is currently tracking towards the end of the year!) a little further north on the coast.

Ha thanks, my wife isn't as daring or adventurous as I am when it comes to moving but it was easier to convince her to move here opposed to Hawaii which was my first choice. I'm in Deltona, a small city, I think it's a city, or large town, next to Orange City, Deland and Daytona.
Off subject...I stopped into Gamestop up in NY before I came down here one last time and realized that with the new Nintendo system coming out in 2012, I'm assuming Gamestop will start to phase out carrying Nintendo Gamecube games and their cheap $29.99 system bundles too so if there's any titles that ya'll are looking for now's the time to grab them.

    Regarding the Hobby Spot:
I work really close to there in Winter Park, Florida. You say, 'The prices are on the high side' and you aren't kidding. To give you an example of the prices, the blue label Kaboom for the 2600 is $19.99 there! WTF?
    Sincerely,

    Cap'n
