Default Apple ii gs find! And a tech question.

I got a complete apple iigs system off Craigslist for 50 bucks!

Here is my question. I have a USB 3.5 floppy that works with my windows 7 pc can I transfer a 5.25 disk image for the apple ii as an image file on a 3.5 and have the apple iigs read it and write it onto the 5.25 drive for my apple ii plus? Anyone know of any software that could help the iigs write a apple ii format disk to the 5.25 drive?

You can always connect the 5.25 directly to a PC and write images; http://adt.berlios.de/ Similar programs exist for the C64

Great score, congrats! A friend of mine had a ][gs, and the version of Bard's Tale for it is really good.
If you can't do it with 8 bits, you don't need to do it.

Hahah! I had forgotten there were two disks for Bard's Tale. This came with the //gs? Or did you score these separately?

    Great find!

CiderPress is probably the best way to transfer disks & files to the IIgs.

What is the IIgs? is the best source for games, applications, and even manuals which we didn't have back in the "pirate days".

A Compact Flash Card or SCSI hard drive is a must. Then, you can install System 6.0.1 and have a very Mac-like environment.

Next, you can get the IIgs online via an Uthernet Card.

All sorts of fun stuff to play with!

You could, although you'd need at least two 3.5" floppy drives since the OS would take up most of the disk. Most GSOS programs on disk have a "light" version of the OS called "Launcher" which lacks Finder. It's still best for you to get a HD or CF card...
