Default CGE 2012 is ON! OFFICIAL CGE 2012 THREAD

Oh Yeah! Classic Gaming Expo 2012 is announced!

You know of course that we will be there at our usual booth and will be grabbing all the gaming greats to bring them to the show as well as covering all the killer events. And you should be there too, there is no place like CGE for a retro gamer. It will be held as usual in Fabulous Las Vegas on August 10,11,12. A change from the last few years it will be held in the Fremont strip area at the Plaza, for more details check out the Newbie and Cost Conscious Guide to CGE

Over the coming weeks we will be announcing our schedule of RGRUP events that will go on during CGE, in addition to the great events that CGE provides we take you into our favorite gaming hotspots in Las Vegas.

If your concerned about the cost of a Vegas trip check out our Newbie and Cost Conscious Guide to CGE which was updated recently, 2011. The guide is also useful for first timers at CGE. If your new to what CGE is, or want to learn more hit their site and leaf through the pictures of last year (and more) to get an idea of what awaits.

And if your interested in working the RGRUP booth we want to hear from you, post here or PM directly.

    ***********REGISTRATION IS OPEN*************

Get registered and get ready to party in Vegas.

Second topic, summer of 2011 we had a great party called EGC (Emergency Gaming Convention) in place of the canceled CGE. We are looking to gauge interest of who would be looking to extend the CGE experience by meeting up for an EGC part II in the days before CGE, tentatively Wed-Friday. We would hit up all those extras (Hofbrau Haus, pinball museum, Insert Coins barcade, Toy Shack, local arcades etc.)that are so tough to cram in on a CGE weekend. If your up for an EGC/CGE combo let us hear about it.

I'm not sure yet if I can attend, but last time was a blast. I'll update when I know for sure, and I'd be happy to man the booth if I come.

This is great news! CGE210 was my first time at a CGE and I had a blast! Plus, it was there where I first heard of RGR. Definitely plan on going again. Plus, if Geoff Edwards shows up, that would just sweeten the whole deal. Can't wait.

I'll definitely be getting out to one of these conventions in 2012. Can't decide between Magfest or CGE. I'm on the East coast so Magfest is definitely do-able (5-6hr drive I think), but I've never been to Vegas before so that sounds pretty exciting in itself

So do both, right. If you were to bail early Friday afternoon and hit MAGFEST for Friday night - Sunday close you could still be home before midnight. Then save your vacation time for CGE in the summer. You would still see plenty of MAGFEST and get to do CGE.

The Newbies and Cost Conscious Guide to CGE has been updated as of December 9, 2011. More updates will show up in January when hotel rates are published and as CGE events are updated. The updates are in Post #1.

This month we will have our sneak preview of the CGE 2012 venue as an editorial in the show, when the show hits we will post lots of pics covering the Plaza, expo hall, and Fremont!

Count me in for both Scott! (and booth help if needed)
Maybe Oz will still be at the Luxor so we can have another go at frightening soccer moms?
