Default Pinball Arcade IOS version now available

hey guys, IOS has been the first platform to recieve a version of the Pinball Arcade and it's up now

There's a free and a $.99 one, afaik the free one allows you to trial all tables, the .99 one is an introductory price for arabian nights perhaps, I'm sure i read that they were picking 1 table a month to sell at the reduced price.

There's 4 tables for now, they are

    Black Hole
    Gottlieb - 1981
designer: John Buras, Adolf Seitz Jr.

    Theater of Magic
    Williams - 1995
    design: John Popadiuk

    Tales of the Arabian Nights
    Williams - 1996
    design: John Popadiuk

    Ripley's Believe It or Not!
    Stern - 2004
    design: Pat Lawlor

and here is a video of how it plays on ipad2, including the menus

the approximate release schedule for the other platforms seems to be

    iOS - 09 February 2012
    Android - February
    PC/Mac - March
PS Vita/3DS - Middle of March
    Xbox360/PS3 - End of March

I like that you can opt to log into facebook for cross-platform leaderboards, awesome touch

Ya, I picked this up as soon as it went on sale. So far, so good. Ball physics seem to be quite a bit better then their latest 3DS version, too.

    Here is my quick preview:

i like what they were going for with the shift in camera to the plunger, but how practical is it for varying the shot strength, and intentionally attempting skill shots

(first potential flaw in before Scott gets a chance to pick holes in it )

I was about to say I wish i'd taken my ipad to work today and i could've tried it but seeing as I ran to work that may have been a little tricky

hmmm, had a quick go last night, the ball seemed to accelerate very quickly, almost making it feel a little light, but this could just be as i'd got used to the acceleration curve of Zen and Pinball FX2

Not a great fan of the way they've implemented the dot matrix either, can't see that being a quick and easy patch, so it'll not change

It's a nice touch having the history and sales/manufactured numbers for the tables though, shows that they're really caring to make a digital museum, rather than just having the licensed tables to try and use the familiarity as a marketing hook

I'd love to make a lego cradle that clips on the back of the ipad, and gives you two plungers that push a lever which presses a contact onto the screen, i'm finding it really hard to get on with tapping the screen, even though you seem to be pretty free to press anywhere

One of the dogs liked to lick the screen and nudge/tilt the table for me, which was somewhat annoying

Found Farsight's page on FB and have been very pleased how they're allowing people feedback/suggestions/criticisms to be aired uncensored like some larger companies. Enjoying the games too.
They've confirmed quite a few future tables to including:
MM, AFM, CV, CFTBL, etc. I wish them all the best. I have only a Wii and PS2 so no console action for me
Loving what's effectively VP on the go on iPhone though

Not sure about the iOS version but the Android version now has an EM machine on it, and it's a great one, Gottlieb Big Shot.
