They need a lot of work but I'm pretty excited. I have the manuals and as far as I can tell all of the parts (some of which are laying in the bottom of the cab ;^) Oh well, it's a good start.

Awesome! I always love to see our listeners taking the plunge and acquiring machines. Isn't it great to be able to fiddle with the bits under the glass.

Just what I was thinking! My brother stopped by and I let him open the coin door and he said "damn, I've wanted to do that since I was a kid"
I think I've talked my wife into moving our bedroom upstairs and leaving the downstairs for the arcade. It's all coming together :^)
Well I got The Getaway up and running without too much trouble - fixed a short, a molex connector and fuses. Shooter and pop bumpers are weak but other than that it seems to up and running 100%. I'm polishing the playfield and replacing rubbers right now. I was wrong, it's a damn good game, I love it. Hearing Steve Richie as the voice of the cop is priceless! It's a fast and intense game.
The Jurassic Park has been a headache. I got stumped pretty quickly. There's some half-assed rigged wiring that I don't understand and a short somewhere plus broken fuse holders on the power supply (although my meter shows that they're okay now that I strapped it with a zip tie. It will be replaced though). Basically it just won't power up properly.
*hangs head* So anyway I found a repair guy locally and he's coming next week to help me get on the right track. But it's all good I have a lot of questions that can probaly only be asked while I point my finger at stuff and go "WTF"
I spend more time undoing fixes than I do repairing the original fault.

I totally understand that now. I'm finding wires clipped, leaf switches taped together and the like. It's a bit overwhelming. I'm just glad the Getaway was easy. I'm guessing it will all be simple fixes and I'm just overlooking something. Still, it's a cool project and I'm enjoying it.
Oh hell yeah 2 nice games to get started. Jealous! I so want a pin its not even funny any more!
Nice! My wife and I both want a Taxi pin really bad now thanks to the Williams Arcade Collection game.
I get to play Taxi locally, it's good.
