    Default Stern Scramble Restoration

Its well overdue for me to post this thread!

I picked up this Scramble ages ago from a guy about an hour from here. He sold it to me for $80 and said it was a non worker. When I got there it had been stored in a tip of a damp garage for years. I actually thought twice about taking it but for $80 it was probably worth it for parts if nothing else.

The cab had serious wood rot, powder post beetle infestation, everything was dirty and rusted with hacked electrics.

    Work performed:

    - Adjusted +5 to get the game working.
    - Boracare application to remove and protect against insect damage.
    - Stripped and filled all wood, totally removed and replaced base and part of side woodwork.
    - Fitted new strip light
    - New T-Molding
    - Totally stripped coin door, repainted, cleaned all mechs and refitted.
    - Added a free play button to coin door (Scramble doesnt supper free play!)
    - Full repaint and restencil of all artwork
    - New speaker and renovated speaker grill
    - Strip and Repaint all metal parts

    Enjoy the pics!

Simply awesome! Great job. This game's music and sounds really hit home with me and are some of my most memorable from the arcade I used to go to.

I'll throw you all through a loop and say "Killer" No really that is some Killer work there Retro Shaun! It's really heartwarming to see an old beat up cab lovingly restored to it's former glory. Especially after Socal showed me those Hellcade photos! Wow! words just fail me. RetroShaun, you sir are my hero of the week!

LOL! Thanks guys! This restore took way longer than it should have... partly due to a hectic schedule and partly as I was kinda making and fixing mistakes as I went. I learned a hell of a lot (such as - stencils are a pain in the butt!) but it definitely feels good once its complete that's for sure. I am scared to move it now in case the artwork gets damaged

Yeah thats one of my strongest memories too SoCal - this and Galaxian for some reason. I guess thats partly why I invested so much time into it. Still plays brilliantly today.
