So I have a few boardsets that I use allot for repair and some machines I use as test beds. That means a few machines will often be in the process of hosting boards that I am in the middle or repairing. So when Kynrek posted that he was driving all the way from Ohio to Virginia for my party mostly to play Gorgar there was no way I was going to have it out of commission. Since I have three boards waiting for repair and very little time I decided to turn to a great solution, new technology pinball PCBs.
I really need to do a HWFB on these again. The utility is amazing, for my Bally's I have an Ultimate MPU and Driver that I can used to troubleshoot any Bally of that era very quickly, but for Williams I was still doing it the old fashioned way. So since I just didn't have the time to get the boards diagnosed, and I needed a modern Williams PCB I ordered up the Rottendog combo MPU / driver board. Long story short, this board combines the functions of the MPU and driver into one board with advanced diagnostics. The game will be up and running by the end of an hour, and I have an even better test bench.
