Default Getting pinballs ready for family party

So my machines were nearly complete accept for some lights. So I changed out bulbs, that didn't work, I traced wires, checked voltage, nope nothing wrong. Finally I noticed that they were wired wrong, apparently from the factory (3 in a row). So I switched the wires around and viola! The next light had me totally baffled, until I realised it needed a diode which was also not installed at the factory. A fifth one had a broken diode. This was on a Data East game, my Williams is definitely better built and assembled.

So anyway, I had usually assumed the factory layout was correct but you really can't rely on that.

Family members called just to make sure I had the pins up and running and that they couldn't wait to play. They are certainly an investment I don't regret making.

I have told people for years that you only need a few machines to make it really special.

Wow! My dad played for 2 1/2 hours! And he's the type that just eats and runs, he's never stayed that long.

Yeah I only have two machines but the gameplay feels much different between them - one with great feeling shots and one with fun modes. It's a great mix. It's something to think about if you can only have a couple: make sure they aren't too similar.

    A funny coincidence:

My dad was going on about this health food guy that he's been following (some raw foods diet silliness) while he was playing Jurassic Park pinball. Well for some reason I was searching youtube for Jurassic Park videos and came across one about the artist for that and many other machines. It turns out that the designer was that guy he was talking about.

Wow it's really cool that pinball is helping bring you closer to your father. Video games certainly did that for me when I was a kid. I remember playing games with my brother and even my mom. So that is another awesome thing about video games (and pinball) that they never get credit for. They are so cool that they bring the generations together.

Now let's get down to that health food guru. Shit what a large fucking ego that guy has. I mean calling himself the number one pinball designer in the 90's? Proclaiming the older pinball machines had shitty art etc. That guy is such a Hollywood Douche bag. Trust me I know Hollywood Douch bags well. One of my sisters moved to San Diego and has become one. She is selling health food in what can only be called a pyramid scheme. So yeah fuck you Markus Rothkranz and all the people like you (including my sister) that make money on bullshit claims and use the naivete of average people to make a buck. I just can't stand people with fevered egos. Rant is complete.

Just look at the nonsense this guy spreads: "For the first week of parasite cleansing, about an hour or so after I'd take the capsules, I could actually feel the parasites DIE, I felt nauseous and like crap. I didn't know that's what It was at first, until I did an enema later that day and hundreds of visible parasite bodies came out of me... if that won't open your eyes, I DON'T know what will. From there on, every day for the week hundreds and hundreds or parasites kept coming out! the parasite pills were like the cops coming to crash a crazy party at your mom's place while they're on vacation."

This guy is a fucking parasite! Also he likes digging through his own feces. What a sick sick excuse for a human being.

    Indiesoul,

I agree, video games definitely bring people together in a very unique way. Not only does it bring my brothers and my Dad and I together but sometimes it helps develop new friendships like with my brother-in-law and I. We have become pretty good friends from playing games together, I'm probably closer to him than anyone else in the family (besides his wife of course).
