Listing Details

Bust a Move (called Bust a Groove in the US) is a hybrid music/fighting video game for the Sony PlayStation released in 1998. Songs and menus are in English.

The U.S. version of the game had a number of changes from the Japanese version, mostly due to cultural differences between countries.

Hiro-kun was originally smoking a cigarette in the game but this was removed for the U.S. release. Also, his name was shortened to just "Hiro", with "kun" being omitted.

Hamm's general appearance was changed from a ganguro or blackface design into a generic, Caucasian style. As a result, cutscenes for him were also changed.Hamm's song had two of its lines changed. Near the beginning, "McDonald's, Burger King, or any other place" was replaced with a loop of "Hamburger lovers let me hear you say ho" (which is heard again later in the song).

Strike's song originally contained references to alcohol. This line was removed for the U.S. release, leaving an instrumental following the line "Like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I'm the only true Eraser".During gameplay, Strike is seen drinking from a hip flask. This was changed to a can of soda pop (possibly Coca-Cola)."Waratte PON", "Aozora no KNIFE", "Uwasa no KAPOEIRA" and "Transform" were translated to English and were re-recorded for the U.S. release (The former three were re-titled as "Shorty and the EZ mouse", "Bust a Groove" and "Capoeira", respectively).

Frida (Player 2) hair color was originally black, but was changed to blue for the U.S. release.

This game has been tested and boots up great.  The CD, case and manual are in good condition.  The photos uploaded are of the actual item I am selling.  Make sure that you are able to run Japanese Playstation games before bidding.  You will need a Japanese PS1, PS2, PS3, A modded US or PAL. PS1 or PS2, or a PC with a Playstation emulator capable of running Japanese games.

I am based in Japan so I charge the same price to ship to the United States, North America, Europe, etc.  I will charge the price listed as "U.S." regardless of where you live (unless you live in Japan and then I can quote you a domestic price).  I ship everything standard airmail and it should arrive to most destinations within 7-10 days.

Loose carts and CD games will be wrapped in a removable plastic sleeve and then placed in a bubble wrapped mailer for shipping.  Boxed or fragile games will be cushioned with bubble wrap or newspaper and put in a larger box.  Please remember, the games will ship from Japan so please allow some additional shipping time.  Also during Japanese postal holidays (New Year's, Golden Week, Obon) orders will be delayed while the post office is closed.

I am able to combine orders.  I will automatically combine orders and in nearly all cases lower the price. If you are buying lots of small items like loose carts or Jewel Case discs the combined shipping can be significantly less than what is listed.
