When I started this site back in February, I was content doing the promotion by myself. It did not seem like an insurmountable task, and seemed fun. This was clearly a much more difficult task than I thought, and now am ready to outsource help with promoting GameGavel.com

Here is what I am looking for:

1. Must be a high energy and a firm believer in the site and what it stands for. Free Video Game Auctions for the Video Game Enthusiast.

2. Must be able to write clearly, answer general questions about the site and the mission statement.

3. Must be proactive about getting the name out in various forums for discussion, websites, and other mediums.

4. Must be creative!

The specific details regarding pay, bonuses, etc. will be kept at the private discussion level and will be kept confidential between GameGavel.com and interested parties.

The site will be undergoing a large scale upgrade within the next couple of days. The upgrade will include a lot of new, great features including:

* Display end time next to each watched item
* Moved category "skip" option
* Store URL's (mod_rewrite) only includes username and user_id (This one is great for search engine optimization, increasing hits to the site!)
* Seller option to view bid details when the auction is listed as private
* Lightbox option added
* Direct payments options also available as a pre-filled field, making your auction listings faster!
* Direct payment settings added to registration page, no more getting the greyed out boxes when you haven't setup online payment modes!
* Item number search option
* Paymate integrated, just ONE more payment method.
* Bid retraction email to users bidding on the related auction, that way everyone knows if a bid has been retracted.
* Delete "All" option available for watched items
* Auction watch added (keyword entry). This is going to be great because you can put a few keywords in for what you are looking to buy, and then you get a notice that something you want has been posted!
* Seller option to end an auction early
* Full second chance option added! Maybe your item doesn't sell because of the reserve price... give a bidder a chance to still buy your item!
* Members area summary page added, similar to eBay!
* Buy out only auction type.

I have noticed that the site has been loading a bit longer than normal lately, and I have been trying to seek out the culprit today while waiting for my flight for the next leg of my vacation. I think the culprit was the GoDaddy.com SSL Seal on the bottom of the site, and it has been removed. The site, for me, has loaded much faster since the removal of the seal. If you find that this has either helped or not, please let me know and Contact Us.

Do you like to let other people know about your auctions? If so, you aren't in the minority. Auctions have a much higher chance of selling and being bid up when you tell everyone you know that they are happening. If you are like 80% of the GameGavel users you belong to at least one Gaming Forum with an Auction section. These are great areas to promote your auctions on top of what GameGavel.com already does! The downside, is you have to tediously copy and paste auction links and titles for all of them! If you sell a lot, this is very daunting! Not any more!

GameGavel is happy to launch it's "Generate My List" feature within "My Account". Simply login and go to "My Account", click the "Selling Tab" and you will see a brand new section called "Generate My List". When you visit that page, it creates 3 seperate lists of ALL of your auctions that you can copy and paste into an HTML document for use on your website, and two different Bulletin Board Codes to use with your favorite forum! These are guaranteed to work with 95% of the forums out there, if you find one that doesn't I will add the box to make it work within 24 hours of notification!

The search is simple, and based on your Category and Title. Since there are a lot of 3 letter consoles (32X, Wii, NES, etc) I had to use the "dumb" search method, so don't be put off if you are listing an NES game and see some Genesis titles in there (geNESis). Its a limitation of MySQL and the Console Manufacturers! But, scroll down and you will find your title!
